I found this recipe from To The Outskirts, where she has a wonderfully photographed tutorial. This is very good for colds, and I actually enjoy the taste, but some might find it too spicy You might want to add additional lemon and honey, especially for children. I also add some tea to it -Constant Comment is good with this..
3 ½ cups water
1 inch fresh ginger (sliced thin)
2-3 cinnamon sticks
1-2 Tbs. whole cloves
Juice from 1 whole medium lemon
3-4 Tbs honey
Add water, ginger, cinnamon sticks and cloves in small saucepan. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Simmer for 20 min. Strain. Add lemon and honey. We usually drink while warm but it can also be sipped throughout the day warming as needed.
Hmmm, I wonder if you could use ginger tea and add the rest?
ReplyDeleteOr does the fresh make a difference?
I do believe that fresh ginger does make a difference.
