Spicy German Sausage and Cabbage

This is a modified version of the recipe from Permanent Posies.
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 jalepeno, diced
1 onion, diced
1 Tab. olive oil
1 head cabbage, chopped
3 German sausages (bratwurst)
2 cloves garlic, minced
6 potatoes, peeled and cut into bite-sized chunks
1/4 stick butter or margarine
1/2 tsp chili powder
salt and pepper to taste

Saute the onions, garlic and jalepenos in the olive oil.  Add cabbage and 1/2 cup water. Add sausages and cooked them until they were browned. Remove sausage and add cabbage, 1/2 cup water and chili powder and cover the pan and simmer for about 25 minutes. Slice up the sausage and throw it back in the pan and let it stew in the cabbage.
Simmer or steam potatoes in another pan until tender. Add butter or margarine and sprinkle them with salt and pepper. Serve the cabbage and sausage over the potatoes.
