1 box white cake mix, plus ingredients to make or your favorite white cake recipe
your favorite buttercream icing or Jill's suggestion for icing here.
Line your cupcake tin with cupcake liners. Twist your Oreo cookies in half and place the half with cookie and icing, icing side up in your cupcake liner - save the other cookie half. Repeat this until all cupcake liners have been filled (24). Preheat oven to 350F, or whatever your cake mix calls for. Make white cake mix according to package directions or your recipe. Take your 24 Oreo cookie halves and put them in a Ziploc bag. Crush them up leaving some larger pieces and some smaller pieces. Mix these crushed cookies into your cake batter. Pour this batter into your cupcake liners, filling about 2/3rds full. Bake in oven according to box directions - mine was about 20 minutes. While cupcakes are baking, prepare the frosting. When cupcakes are done, allow to cool completely before frosting. Frost cupcakes however you like.

When I made these I used the frosting Jill suggests for these cupcakes despite the fact we don't usually use instant pudding or Cool Whip. The boys liked the frosting fine, but it was a little runny for me and I think I will try a good homemade buttercream instead next time to simulate the taste of Oreo cream center more.
