This meat pie recipe was given to me as a recipe for frugal cooking. It uses a deep dish pie shell with a top crust. You can make your own or you can buy a ready made at the store in the freezer section.
Lay 4-6 medium potatoes, sliced, seasoned with salt and pepper to taste in a deep dish pastry shell. Sprinkle with 2 Tab. flour, 2 onions, finely sliced and one stalk celery, finely chopped in alternating layers with 1 pound bulk sausage, lightly cooked. Fill up dish with hot milk about to the top of the potatoes. Cover dish with a top pastry crust. Crimp edges with fork. Cut holes in the top for venting of steam. Bake 1 hour at 350 degree oven.
